Welcome, Janet Godfrey!

Feb 8, 2024 | Uncategorized

University City Partners is pleased to welcome Janet Godfrey as our new Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships.

What drew you to UCP?  I have had the privilege of working with esteemed organizations in Charlotte, contributing to the development of a robust professional network.  Facilitating connections among businesses and organizations within the community is a valuable skill that I am eager to apply in University City.  I anticipate playing a significant role in fostering such connections in this new environment.

Where were you prior to joining UCP? I was with Novant Health working in Community Engagement for almost nine years.

How long have you been in Charlotte? Over 30 years

What do you love most about University City? University City stands as Charlotte’s largest Municipal Service District (MSD), spanning an expansive area of approximately 7.9 square miles.  This extensive geography presents abundant opportunities for both community and economic growth and development.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?  I am a wealth of useless knowledge, hoping to find a way to make money from it at some point. 😊

Where can we find you when you’re not working? I serve on the board of three non-profits and have four pseudo-Godchildren that keep me very busy. I also enjoy working out at the YMCA and attending almost any sporting event.
