University City Partners 2023 Recap and 2024 Forecast

Jan 18, 2024 | Uncategorized

Greetings UCP Community,

What a ride 2023 has been for University City Partners! I jumped on board in January (time really does fly, doesn’t it?), and it’s been nothing but positive vibes and exciting changes since then.

We nailed some fantastic grants, like the game-changing City of Charlotte Small Business Grant, giving our local University City businesses a major boost – more to come on that.. We also grabbed several smaller grants to spice up our events and programs, showcasing our dedication to community involvement.

The highlight of the year? Without a doubt, our 20th annual meeting, hosted by the wonderful folks at Crescent Communities. Check out the new University City jingle we created – it’s a hit! We welcomed a fresh new face to our board and brought in two fantastic staff members, making our team stronger than ever. UCity Lights, UNC Charlotte Homecoming, Famous Toastery Bowl Game, new signs in University Research Park, and more pathways around the area made 2023 a standout year.

Hold onto your hats because 2024 is going to be even more exciting! We’re bringing in new talent, ramping up support for local businesses, and adding some cool art installations to spruce up University City. Brace yourselves for Kids Fest, Wine Fest, a Juneteenth celebration, UCity Lights, and a bunch of other fun events. And yes, we’re still committed to keeping University City clean and safe for everyone.

We’re looking to connect with you even more in 2024. Get ready for increased online engagement and a brand new UCP podcast. Stay tuned for updates on what we’re up to. It’s shaping up to be another year of growth, teamwork, and fantastic vibes. Can’t wait to share this journey with you!

-Keith
