Elizabeth McMillan

Elizabeth McMillan, an executive with Crescent Communities who serves on the University City Partners board of directors, has been appointed to the Planning Committee of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission.

McMillan is director of development for Crescent’s commercial and mixed-use division. She has worked on numerous projects in Charlotte including the Belgate mixed-use center at I-85 and University City Boulevard.

Most recently, McMillan has served as project manager overseeing Crescent’s retail projects in the Carolinas and worked with tenants such as Wal-Mart, IKEA, Walgreens, and Lowe’s Home Improvement and McDonalds.

Currently, she directs all development activity for Tryon Place, Crescent’s $250+ million office tower and mixed-use project in Uptown Charlotte. She is a LEED Accredited Professional, a licensed real estate broker in North and South Carolina, ULI Certificate recipient, and a graduate of Leadership Arlington.

The planning commission is the advisory body for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission. Members are appointed by the City Council, County Commission and Mayor.

As a member of the commission’s planning committee, McMillan will help make recommendations concerning land use, urban design, transportation and other policies relevant to the planning process and also review and recommend action on capital projects and on acquisition or sale of real property.
