The city’s Engineering and Property Management Department will hold public meetings Oct. 28 and 29 to present information about the Northeast Corridor Infrastructure Program (NECI). This program will improve streets, sidewalks and bikeways near stations along the Blue Line Extension light-rail line now under construction from Center City to UNC Charlotte.
At both meetings, city staff will also give construction updates for the Blue Line Extension. People at both meetings will have time after the presentations to speak with staff and view concept maps of individual projects.
- Southern station areas – Oct. 28: 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church, 101 Sugar Creek Road W. Projects to be discussed: 25th Street Extension, Parkwood Avenue streetscape, North Tryon Street and 36th Street streetscape, Sugar Creek Road streetscape, Philemon Extension.
- Northern station areas – Oct. 29: 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hampton Park Community Center, 211 Hampton Church Road. Projects to be discussed: J.W. Clay Blvd. streetscape, McCullough Drive streetscape and extension, Tom Hunter Road streetscape, Rocky River Road West street improvements.
