One of University City’s oldest tech companies is moving to new offices near the future McCullough Drive LYNX light-rail station. The Charlotte Business Journal recently reported that Verbatim has signed a lease at 8210 University Executive Park Drive and will relocate next fall from its longtime home at 1200 W. WT Harris Blvd.

Verbatim’s new offices in University Executive Park will be within a short walk of the light-rail station on North Tryon Street at McCullough Drive. Verbatim’s current location in University Research Park has been its home since the mid-1980s.

Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Verbatim’s Research Park neighbor, purchased the building and 24-acre property in 2011 and occupies part of the building.

With Verbatim moving to a new location, “EPRI … sees this as an opportunity to address our office needs in Charlotte,” said company spokesman Scott Carlberg.
