State Farm and ATAPCO team up for July 29 blood drive

Here’s our chance to give back in a big way – by donating blood. State Farm Insurance agents around University City and ATAPCO, the owner of University Executive Park, will co-host a blood drive 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. July 29 at 8210 University Executive Park Drive (DIRECTIONS). Look for the Community Bloodmobile in the parking lot.

Community Blood Center of the Carolinas hopes to collect at least 30 pints of blood. The independent, locally managed nonprofit community blood center is the primary blood supplier to our region’s hospitals including Carolinas Medical Center – University.

Blood donated with CBCC stays in the Carolinas to help our neighbors. As of last week, the Charlotte area has an immediate need for O-positive and O-negative donors. LEARN MORE ABOUT CBCC

How to take part in the blood drive

The blood drive will take place in the large Community Bloodmobile parked at 8210 University Executive Park Drive. Space is limited, so please make an appointment online at www.ncdonor.com if possible (however, walk-ins are also accepted).

  • Follow the link to “create a login” at the bottom of the page.
  • After creating your log-in, search for the drive by date or by using the Sponsor Code: ASFarm. (email Aly at ajohnson@cbcc.us if you have problems logging in.)

After you give, check out University Executive Park’s fresh, new look. University City’s first business park recently underwent a $4.5 million upgrade to its grounds and several buildings. The LYNX light-rail line to uptown, opening in 2017, will have one of its stations at the McCullough Drive entrance to the business park.
