Your Input, Big Impact: How the Trash Survey is Shaping University City

Mar 5, 2025 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

When it comes to keeping University City clean and safe, we’re not just guessing what works—we’re listening to YOU. Your feedback in the University City Trash Survey is already guiding how we:

  • Focus our Public Safety Initiative
  • Strengthen the Ambassador Program
  • Secure more funding for cleaner streets
  • Support local businesses and property managers

And to thank you for your time, we’re giving away gift cards to local businesses!

Congratulations to our first winners:
Caroline Grubb (Resident Survey)
R.J. Robinson from Parks Chevrolet Charlotte (Business Survey)

Each won a $200 gift card to KPOT Charlotte, one of our newest restaurants! Big thanks to KPOT for their support—check them out here: KPOT Charlotte.

Why Your Voice Matters

The University City Public Safety Collaborative Forum brought together law enforcement, city leaders, and business owners to discuss key issues like crime prevention, community engagement, and the role of clean streets in public safety. The message was clear:

Litter isn’t just about looks—it impacts safety, business investment, and neighborhood pride.

That’s why we’re taking action. Our Trash Study, led by our dedicated team (including star intern Sophie!), is collecting data from every corner of University City. This information helps us target funding, policy changes, and community clean-up efforts where they’re needed most.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your input.

What Happens Next?

Your responses help us fight for more funding. When we apply for grants and city funding, hard data makes a powerful case for investment in University City.

Your feedback shapes the Ambassador Program. The program isn’t just about picking up trash—it’s about public safety, helping the unhoused, and making University City a more welcoming place.

Your voice drives real change. Whether you’re a resident, business owner, or property manager, your input influences city decisions, funding, and future initiatives.

How to Take the Survey & Win!

  • It takes less than 5 minutes.
