Charlotte New Year’s Day 5k

Start 2022 off on the right foot by participating in the family-friendly Charlotte New Year’s Day 5K on North Tryon Street.  The race starts at 10 AM and lasts until Noon. Participants will celebrate their accomplishment and toast the new year with a post-event party.  At the end of the line, everyone will enjoy pancakes, hot cocoa, hot cider, and live music.  VIP tickets score you space in our heated tent while you enjoy mimosas or beer from your commemorative champagne glass.

The New Year’s Day 5K, presented by Atrium Health, raises awareness about hunger challenges in Charlotte, specifically in University City.  Donations made will support Hope Street Food Pantry, the first community food bank to open in the 28269 zip code.  To learn more about Hope Street Food Pantry and the work they do within our community, visit hopestreetfoodpantry.org

Want to help?  Our 5k volunteers will receive an official long sleeve race shirt (while supplies last) and can enjoy a pancake breakfast and beer sample (21+) after their shift is over.  And as a bonus, you will receive two tickets to University City Wine Fest set for April 23, 2022!  All volunteers will finish their shift in plenty of time to enjoy the post race festivities!  So if running isn’t your thing, no worries. Learn more about volunteering here.

So come and support our runners, enjoy the fun, and Happy New Year everyone!
