June 13 community food drive

The June 13 food drive will benefit five food pantries serving University City

Many University City residents are struggling to afford food. You can help. A community food drive to replenish five food banks in the UCITY Family Zone will take place 10 am-noon June 13.

Drop off canned vegetables, soups, pasta, pasta sauce and other non-perishable food items at StoneBridge Church Community, 3700 Prosperity Church Road.

The community drive will benefit the following food pantries:

  • Jamil Niner Food Pantry – UNC Charlotte campus.  Operates Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Website
  • Hope Street Food Pantry – Hope Church. 4100 Johnston Oehler Road, Charlotte, NC 28269. Their pantry night is Thursdays. Website
  • Faith CME Food Pantry. 457 Wellingford St., Charlotte, NC 28213 Their pantry night is Wednesdays. Website
  • Care To Share Outreach Center. 5232 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28215. Operates Mondays-Thursdays. Website
  • Camino Community Pantry – Camino Community Center.  201 Stetson Drive, Charlotte, NC 28262 Operates Tuesdays and Fridays. Website

Every-Tuesday food drive

StoneBridge Church Community also collects food for area distribution each Tuesday morning. Bring donations to the church at 3700 Prosperity Church Road.
