NOVEL Research Park is located on the edge of University Research Park

Crescent Communities held a grand opening on Nov. 5 for its latest apartment community, NOVEL Research Park.

Located on the edge of University Research Park at West Mallard Creek Church Road and Senator Royall Place, the luxury apartment community features extensive outdoor amenities, modern farmhouse architectural design, and a convenient location near major employment centers and retail.

NOVEL Research Park offers 280 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes nestled in a wooded natural setting.

The first residents moved into the apartment community in February. NOVEL Research Park is now about 60 percent leased.

Amenities at NOVEL Research Park work well with Crescent’s theme for the community: Where life unwinds. Residents can enjoy a heated resort-style saltwater pool, multiple outdoor grilling areas and fire pits, outdoor game yard, hammock garden, bike-share system, and a fitness center complete with a yoga/fitness studio and separate child play area.

Crescent Communities says that it designed NOVEL Research Park to link the convenience and maintenance-free experience of a multifamily community with the enjoyment of backyard living offered in a single-family residence.

A nature trail that winds through the community and many other outdoor living features blend seamlessly into the natural setting to create a sense of community that is unique to the multifamily experience.

NOVEL Research Park offers many places indoors and out where residents can socialize

A pet-friendly community, select apartment homes offer private fenced pet yards, and all residents have access to two dog parks, separated for large- and small-breed dogs. At the same time, a pet-free building is available.

While walkable to several of the area’s largest employers, NOVEL Research Park offers 2,500 square feet of creative, drop-in co-working space with a stocked coffee bar, Wi-Fi, and private work pods, making the community ideal for working remotely.

NOVEL Research Park is within a short walk of shopping and dining

NOVEL Research Park is situated near two stations of the LYNX Blue Line extension, offering residents quick and easy travel between nearby neighborhoods like NoDa, Uptown and South End.

The community is also directly across West Mallard Creek Church Road from the many shops, services and restaurants of The Arbors retail center.

Several miles of county greenways also are nearby, offering direct access by foot and bicycle to nearby neighborhoods, parks, University Place and UNC Charlotte.

The greenways will eventually become part of the emerging 26-mile Cross Charlotte Trail through uptown Charlotte and beyond.

Crescent Communities expects to break ground next spring on another University City apartment community – the 308-home NOVEL University Place.

The garden-style community will be part of the Waters Edge redevelopment of University Place.
