Charlotte KidsFest – transformative AND fun for young learners

Charlotte KidsFestThere’s never been an event quite like Charlotte KidsFest on Oct. 28: More than 100 free performances, activities and games all in one place – UNC Charlotte – and all aimed at transforming a child’s understanding of the world and what’s possible.

“This is going to be an event that will be so spectacular for all the families in our region,” says Darlene Heater of University City Partners.

 

A full day of exciting, entertaining learning

KidsFest will take place 11 am-4 pm Oct. 28 on the North Tryon Street side of the university’s main campus, near the football stadium. Hundreds of volunteers will offer top-quality activities in four learning zones and on the event’s main stage to help children create, discover, learn and play. All activities are aimed at kids under 10 years old, although everyone may take part.

 

So much to do

Among the many choices being offered at Charlotte KidsFest: Storybook readings, local historical characters, hands-on experiments and robotics, performing arts local hands-on arts, crafts and interactive artistic activities, inflatables and giant lawn games, healthy body and healthy mind activities.

The KidsFest main stage will feature performances by the Charlotte Symphony Ensemble, the Hip Hop Orchestra, a Super Hero Meet & Greet, and much more. Numerous food vendors will be on site for hungry visitors to buy food and beverages.

Charlotte KidsFest will be held rain or shine from 11 am to 4 pm Oct. 28 near the North Tryon Street entrance to UNC Charlotte.
