New at the U: Construction 101

Union Deck expansion

Work has started on the Union Deck expansion along Cameron Boulevard.

Our rapidly growing university student body requires plenty of new and refurbished student housing, classrooms, offices and more. And it is coming.

Anyone visiting the Pop Martin Student Union will likely notice the construction underway next door – an addition to the Union Deck by 570 spaces and the start of the $63.5 million Health and Wellness Center.

There’s plenty more in store. Projects under way or starting soon also include a major renovation of Scott Hall, the revitalization of Belk Plaza as an outdoor “living room”, and the ongoing renovation of the Academic Complex, some of the university’s oldest buildings.

To get the full rundown, check out these articles posted on the university’s “Inside UNC Charlotte” webpage.
