You can help shape University City’s light-rail powered future, plus get a Blue Line Extension construction update, on Dec. 9 at the Oasis Shriners Center in University Place. City staff will present new Transit Station Area Plan proposals and seek your feedback in finalizing these crucial guides for how our business district will evolve.
Charlotte Area Transit Systems (CATS) and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Department will host the community meeting, 6-8 pm Tuesday, Dec. 9. The Oasis Shriners Center is at 604 Doug Mayes Place, off of J.W. Clay Boulevard.
City staff will present their latest recommendations for the University City Area Plan Update and seek feedback and comments from people at the meeting. This plan update includes Transit Station Area Plans for the University City Boulevard, McCullough and JW Clay Boulevard/UNC Charlotte light-rail stations and nearby areas along North Tryon Street. The meeting will focus on updated land use, design, mobility and open-space policies within the University City Area Plan boundaries.
Input collected at this important meeting could result in new future land-use recommendations for properties within the University City Area Plan boundaries.
