Madison Park String Quartet

Two UNCC professors are among 4 veteran musicians in Madison Park String Quartet

A concert tonight at UNC Charlotte will offer a too-rare glimpse of the university’s talented Arts and Architecture faculty. The Madison Park String Quartet includes two faculty members, violist Kirsten Swanson and cellist Mira Frisch, plus violinists Jenny Topilow of the Charlotte Symphony and Anna Cromwell of the Western Kentucky University music department. The quartet will perform works of Beethoven, Lutoslawski and Bartok.

Veteran musicians

Each woman’s bio is impressive. Frisch is associate professor of cello and director of string chamber music. She has performed as a recitalist and chamber musician throughout the United States and in Italy and France. Frisch and Cromwell performed together on the 2010 CD, “Quest: New Music for Violin and Cello.”
Swanson teaches viola at UNC Charlotte, is a past member of the Charlotte Symphony and now performs with the NC Symphony. Topilow has belonged to the Charlotte Symphony since 2004.
