Enjoy Oktoberfest Sept. 30 at the Wine Vault

Oktoberfest returns to University Place on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 2 to 5:30, courtesy of Ucity’s popular Wine Vault. Choose from more than 100 local crafts, domestics and imports, including beers never before sold at the Wine Vault. “They’re all picked out just for you!” promises owner Tim Wallace.   Beer is even better with good food and music, and Wallace has lined up both for his 15th annual Oktoberfest. Wine Vault regular Jared Allan will provide the tunes; Boardwalk Billy’s is smoking the meat. Wallace will even toss in special Wine Vault T-shirts. Can you believe that the shirts are being “hand-sewn by Tim himself”? Just ask him on Saturday!   Oktoberfest details 2-5:30 pm Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Wine Vault, 9009 JM Keynes Drive, Suite 1, near the lake at University Place. Directions Ticket price includes unlimited samples of beer, food from Boardwalk Billy’s, live music and “one awesome T-shirt”. Better with age – the 2018 University City Wine Fest!

Better with age – the 2018 University City Wine Fest!

Our 2017 University City Wine Fest drew rave reviews for the plentiful fine wines, good times and tasty food served up lakeside last spring at University Place. Can a festival get any better? Of course! “We are beyond excited to bring this event back to our community in 2018 for year two!” says Darlene Heater, executive director of University City Partners. The Wine Fest will take place April 14 at University Place.   A strong start in 2017 University City Partners and Tim Wallace of The Wine Vault created the University City Wine Fest to complement our community wine culture, promote the wine industry and raise funds for literacy programs at our University City and Sugar Creek public libraries. Fifteen sponsors joined in the effort, which drew hundreds of wine enthusiasts to the University Place lakefront on April 22 and raised $5,000 for our libraries.   A vintage year for 2018! For 2018, we will build on last year’s success to craft an even finer Wine Fest: Start with scores of fine wines, offer experts to build appreciation of each sip, serve tasty morsels from nearby restaurants and sprinkle in a unique array of artisan vendors, set amid the springtime beauty of the lake at University Place. And there’s more! New this year will be a local beer garden. This fun festival addition will feature local beers and ciders with beer-garden style seating and live music.   Learn more about the University City Wine Fest Watch the 2017 action on our post-event video Visit the 2018 Wine Fest website Like our Wine Fest Facebook page to get regular updates  ...

Who needs Munich? Enjoy Oktoberfest at University Place

Sad because you missed the 184th Oktoberfest in Munich? Don’t cry in your beer! Just come to the 14th Annual Oktoberfest on Oct. 15 at the Wine Vault in University Place! With over 100 imported and craft beers to sample, this clearly is the Fest with the Best! Tim Wallace, a very distant relative to Oktoberfest founder Prince Ludwig of Bavaria, promises to have lots of new beers never before sold at the Wine Vault. We couldn’t say this any better than the Wine Vault “Webseite”: “Be blown away by what we’re offering! For just the price of your ticket there will be live music from our own Jared Allan! “We’ll have food catered by the always tasty Boardwalk Billy’s and their amazing smoker! “And not to mention BEER! Who wants to stand in those crazy long lines at other beerfests? And pay ridiculous prices for VIP tickets and still have to wait in lines? Basically, we have no lines! There’s always a happy smiling face ready to pour some cold beer for you! “And that’s not all! How about a special Wine Vault shirt! Included in the price of your ticket, our t-shirts are hand sewn by Tim himself. Using the finest thread from all of southern France, Tim works tirelessly night after night to sew enough shirts for everyone.”   Oktoberfest details Date and time: 2-5:30 pm Oct. 15 Location: The Wine Vault, 9009-I J.M.
