University City Wine Fest

Five days of fun at University City Wine Fest!

Crescent Communities University City Wine Fest will return April 14-18 for its fifth year of fine wine and great fun.  The five-day festival will offer five boutique-style events at multiple locations including the lake and boardwalk at Shoppes at University Place.

New this year, the signature Wine Festival will happen over two days to accommodate social distancing.

From a limited-capacity dining experience at a local chef’s home to sipping wine on the water, all events will provide opportunities to sample a variety of wines in a safe environment.

A cultural community experience for the Charlotte region

University City Wine Fest was created by University City Partners to deliver a cultural community experience for the Charlotte region.

Activities will begin on Wednesday, April 14, with Wine Wednesday on the Water.

Our lead event, the University City Wine Festival, will take place on both Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18, to accommodate the crowds in entertaining and safe style.

Both of the Wine Festival days will feature a large variety of wines from several regional wineries, plus live entertainment. Attendees will have access to as many wine, cider and brew samples as they can responsibly manage.

Safety and convenience

The five events of the University City Wine Fest have been adjusted to ensure safety protocols are in place for adhering to social distance guidelines. Events will be smaller to support fewer attendees. Organizers will continue to monitor and adhere to Mecklenburg County and North Carolina health guidelines.

All events except the Royal Wine and Dine Experience on April 15 will take place in University Place. Visitors will find plenty of free parking plus the convenience of coming and going via the LYNX. The JW Clay Blvd LYNX Station is just a short walk from our Shoppes at University Place events.
