4 days of fun and fury start today at Charlotte Motor Speedway!

Charlotte Motor Speedway racesDrag-racing hot rides, Bandolero competition by the “ladies of NASCAR” and fun in the Fan Zone help set the rowdy tone for our annual racing extravaganza weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The action starts at 6 tonight, Oct. 5,  at zMAX Dragway and climaxes at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Speedway with the start of the 334-lap, 500-mile Bank of America 500.

Here’s the day-by-day rundown.

 

NASCAR Night & Hauler Parade – Wednesday, Oct. 5

Music! Exhibition Races! Dragster Rides! Come watch the Hauler Parade & the NASCAR Industry race their personal rides at zMAX Dragway. Roy Hill will also give dragster rides for a $150 donation to Speedway Children’s Charities.

Free for Fans, donation to Speedway Children’s Charities is suggested. Gates open at 5 pm. Opening ceremony and parade at 6 pm. Races start at 6:15.

Bojangles Pole Night (and Day) – Thursday, Oct. 6

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers leave it all on the track during knockout qualifying to set the field for the Bank of America 500, beginning at about 7:20 pm.

The day’s action starts way back at 11:15 am with practice laps, followed by the opening of the Fan Zone and Play Zone at 1 p.m. The afternoon and early evening include more practice runs, and a 25-lap Bandolero charity race.

The evening concludes with the ground-pounding season-finale for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour. The best modified drivers on the planet race to decide the championship on the front-stretch quarter-mile oval in the Bad Boy Off Road Southern Slam 150.

Drive for the cure 300 – Friday, Oct. 7

The contenders for the NASCAR XFINITY Series Championship will fight to the finish with Sprint Cup series regulars in a 300-mile Friday-night-free-for-all at NASCAR’s home track.

Your Drive for the Cure 300 ticket also includes two afternoon NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice sessions. The Fan Zone is open all day starting at 10:30 a.m.

Bank of America 500 – Saturday, Oct. 8

Sparks will fly as the intensity heats up on Oct. 8 at the only Saturday night race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

The Play Zone opens at 9 am, and spectator gates open at 2 p.m. The pre-race show and driver intros start at 6 p.m. And the race begins at 6:45 pm.
